"In the middle of the night!"

So, I thought my dad had posted about my philanthropy, but when I logged on to add a link I found no post...so here goes!
I spent a few hours volunteering and interviewing the homeless in the weeeeee-hours of the morning... 4-6 am to be exact! Why? you might ask...well if you wait until after 6 am the 5-0 have already kicked them all out of their cubbies and tent-cities. So we had to start early and move fast. In 20 groups of 4-6, we scoured the city with clip boards and flashlights attempting to find the most vulnerable people in the streets. The information we collected was put into a computer system and the 75-100 people most likely to die on the streets in the next 6 months will be housed and given social services for the next 3 years. I had a great time, met some wonderful people and hopefully assisted in changes lives and our community!
If you want to find out more information about the Rx:housing Louisville; 100K Homes Initiative I have attached some links. Some of you may doubt the usefulness of this project and the long lasting effects it may have. But the research is their getting people off the streets saves us all money!! And it saves lives :)
